Betsy Taylor Stevens Kuske, a long-time resident of Augusta, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City after an extended illness. Born on June 22, 1940, in Binghamton, New York, Betsy was the daughter
of Edwin and Ruth Stevens. She moved to Manhattan as a young adult, where she worked for Pan American World Airways and Lord & Taylor. It was in Manhattan that she met Dr. Terrence Kuske, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage. Betsy was deeply involved in the cultural and social life of Augusta, supporting the Augusta Ballet, Augusta Opera, and Belle Meade Hunt in Thompson. She was known for her grace, elegance, and hosting dinner parties. Betsy is survived by her two daughters, Laura Kuske and Patricia Kuske O’Neill, and her grandson, Ian O’Neill. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral service, but a private celebration of life is planned for the summer.
