Detroit has launched a new global contemporary art platform called Detroit Salon, aimed at showcasing local artists on an international stage. Created by Salonnière and supported by the State of Michigan, Visit Detroit, and CultureSource, the initiative will debut in Paris in fall 2025, followed by a community-driven artist call in January 2026, and a citywide edition in Detroit in 2028. The platform will feature year-round exhibitions, salons, and artist development at the Detroit Salon Art House in Paradise Valley. The initiative seeks to connect Detroit artists with global audiences, leveraging partnerships with Art Basel and 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair.
