What's Happening?
The Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded four contracts worth a total of INR1 billion (USD11.1 million) to Indrajaal, a Hyderabad-based defense company, for the procurement of counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UASs). These systems are intended
for use by the Indian Navy and the Indian Army. The Indrajaal Infra C-UASs will be deployed at naval ports on the western seaboard to protect maritime assets and naval infrastructure, as well as along the eastern border to safeguard strategic bases. The systems are powered by Indrajaal's AI-enabled SkyOS command-and-control platform, which integrates sensors and countermeasures to operate with minimal human input. The company plans to deliver 50% of the systems by the end of March and complete the remaining deliveries by the end of June.
