What's Happening?
Students from the Imperial Valley Migrant Education Program have excelled at the California Department of Education's State Speech & Debate Competition. Representing Region 6, these students competed against peers from across California, securing top
positions in both Prepared and Extemporaneous Speech categories. The competition, held in Monterey, saw participation from 315 students across 16 regions. The Imperial Valley team, comprising students from various school districts, also achieved first-place titles in the Middle School and High School Debate divisions. The success is attributed to the dedication of the students, their coaches, and the support from their families and school districts.
