What's Happening?
NASA has unveiled the menu for the Artemis II mission, which includes a selection of Southern comfort foods. The four astronauts aboard the mission will have access to 189 unique menu items and 10 types of beverages during their 10-day journey. The menu is designed
to be shelf-stable and easy to prepare in microgravity, with astronauts playing a role in selecting their meals. Notable Southern dishes include barbecued beef brisket, macaroni and cheese, cobbler, and five types of hot sauce. The menu also features a variety of other items such as vegetable quiche, butternut squash, and tropical fruit salad. Meals are prepared in rehydratable pouches to ensure safety in zero gravity.
