What's Happening?
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is initiating a project to develop datasets for testing and verifying artificial intelligence systems. The U.S. Center for AI Standards and Innovation, part of NIST, aims to ensure the reliability and robustness of AI systems. To achieve this, NIST is seeking contractors who can design and curate datasets that will be used to evaluate AI systems. The agency has issued a sources sought notice to gather information on available commercial sources that can meet its requirements. The datasets will cover various domains, including cybersecurity, chemical and biological security, criminal misuse of AI, software engineering, AI-human interaction, and AI research and development. Additionally, NIST requires translation and localization services for 19 languages, enabling translation between any of these languages.
