What's Happening?
The NFL Foundation has renewed its commitment to CPR education for the 2025-2026 school year, partnering with the American Heart Association to encourage young people to learn Hands-Only CPR. As part of this initiative, five students who participated in the Association's in-school programs during the 2024-25 school year have been awarded tickets to Super Bowl LX. Additionally, five schools have received $10,000 for physical activity equipment makeovers. The collaboration aims to expand CPR awareness and education, with the NFL providing incentives to motivate students to complete the CPR module. The initiative is part of a broader effort to improve survival rates from cardiac emergencies, with the American Heart Association aiming to double these rates by 2030.

This initiative is significant as it addresses the critical need for CPR education, particularly given that more than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur annually in the U.S., with 70% happening at home. Immediate CPR can significantly increase survival chances, yet it is often not administered. By equipping young people with CPR skills, the program not only strengthens the chain of survival but also fosters healthier communities.
