What's Happening?
The Maharashtra government is set to host a two-day global conference titled 'AI for Agri 2026' on February 22 and 23 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. This event is part of the 'State Agriculture–Artificial
Intelligence Policy' and aims to promote the practical use of artificial intelligence in agriculture and related sectors. The initiative is supported by a ₹500 crore investment approved for the first phase of implementation. The conference will feature collaborations with global and national partners, including the World Economic Forum, FAO, UNDP, and the World Bank Group. Participants will include policymakers, international organizations, scientists, technology leaders, startups, and representatives from farming communities. The event will showcase innovations in AI and emerging technologies across the agricultural value chain, such as precision farming, remote sensing, and AI-based advisory systems.
