Despite these concerns, a majority of teens believe they spend an appropriate amount of time on these platforms. The study also highlights that Snapchat is perceived as beneficial for friendships, with nearly half of its users reporting positive effects. The research involved a survey of 1,458 U.S. teens and their parents, conducted between September 25 and October 9, 2025.
