What's Happening?
A report by Infosecurity Magazine reveals that recovery timelines for cybersecurity incidents, such as ransomware attacks and data breaches, have extended up to two weeks for some organizations. The report highlights that 55% of U.S. and UK organizations experienced
such incidents in the past year, with recovery costs averaging $2.5 million. Despite the high costs, only 68% of CISOs reported having cyber resilience strategies, a decrease from 90% the previous year.
Why It's Important?
The extended recovery timelines and high costs associated with cyber incidents underscore the critical need for robust cyber resilience strategies. Organizations must prioritize resilience to minimize disruptions and financial losses. The decline in reported resilience strategies suggests a potential gap in preparedness, which could leave organizations vulnerable to future attacks.
