The decision to remain in San Diego was facilitated by competitive hotel rates and the collaboration of local businesses and city leadership.
Why It's Important?

The event generates substantial revenue, with an estimated regional economic impact of over $160 million in 2024 and more than $3 million in hotel and sales tax revenues. These funds support essential city services such as public safety and infrastructure maintenance. The convention also enhances San Diego's global profile, drawing international attention and visitors. The collaboration between Comic-Con, local hotels, and the city's tourism authority exemplifies successful public-private partnerships that benefit the local economy and community.

Comic-Con's continued presence in San Diego through 2027 ensures ongoing economic benefits and international exposure for the city. The next event is scheduled for July 24-27, 2025, with a preview night on July 23.
