What's Happening?
Cleary University recently organized a two-day artistic workshop for over 20 art students from Fowlerville High School. The event, named the 'Arthur Secunda Immersive Experience,' was designed to inspire students by engaging them with the works of internationally
renowned artist Arthur Secunda. Led by Jeff Von Buskirk, the workshop provided a hands-on educational experience where students explored various art techniques such as watercolor painting, linocut etching, and collage creation. The students also had the opportunity to tour the Arthur Secunda Museum, which houses the largest collection of Secunda's art, comprising about 350 pieces. The workshop aimed to encourage students to create their own original artwork inspired by Secunda's techniques and style.

This workshop is significant as it provides young students with a unique opportunity to engage with art in a hands-on manner, potentially influencing their academic and career paths. By exposing students to the works of a renowned artist and allowing them to experiment with different artistic techniques, the program fosters creativity and innovation. Following the success of this workshop, additional students from Brighton High School, Hartland High School, and Pinckney High School will be offered the same experience in the coming weeks. The Arthur Secunda Museum will also be open for free visits on specific dates, allowing families and the community to engage with the art and further support the educational goals of the program.
