The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) has introduced a new program to send email reminders to vehicle owners about upcoming registration expirations. The initiative aims to encourage timely renewals and reduce lapses in registration. Emails
will be sent approximately 60 days before a registration expires, supplementing existing mail notices. To receive these reminders, vehicle owners must have a current email address on file with the RMV. The program is expected to send between 180,000 and 230,000 reminder emails each month, directing recipients to renew online and verify their insurance coverage and address.
