by his wife of 46 years, Ada Lugene Wilkins Powell, and is survived by four children, thirteen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. Powell was known for his love of sports, particularly NASCAR and football, and his dedication to his family. Funeral services are scheduled for August 8, 2026, at New Life Independent Baptist Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive guests on August 7, 2026, at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services.
