What's Happening?
The Monroe County Farm Bureau is offering three $750 scholarships to local students pursuing careers in agriculture. The scholarships, named the Betty Bliss Scholarship, Dale Lynn Mason Scholarship, and Young Farmer Memorial Scholarship, will be awarded
in May. Eligible applicants include high school seniors and students enrolled in post-secondary education programs related to agriculture. The scholarships are open to students attending four-year universities, trade schools, community colleges, and vocational training programs. While Farm Bureau membership is not required, involvement in the Young Farmer Committee is encouraged. Applicants must submit an essay on urban sprawl's impact on agricultural land, along with two letters of recommendation, by May 4. Interviews will be conducted on May 9.
