Pastor Gail Robert Heimgartner, known as Pastor Bob, passed away at the age of 72 on July 25, 2026. He was surrounded by family and friends at his home. Pastor Bob was a beloved figure in his community, having served in various roles within the Lutheran
Church, including as a pastor and youth leader. He was also a former biology teacher and coal miner, and he ran a 250-acre farm. Pastor Bob is survived by his wife Julie, their three children, and two grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, with burial at Zion Grove Cemetery.
