What's Happening?
Avelo Airlines has announced an expansion of its flight services from Rochester, New York, to Florida, starting in December. The airline will increase the number of nonstop flights between Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport and
Lakeland International Airport in Central Florida. Introductory one-way fares will start at $57. The new schedule includes mid-week flights on Wednesdays, in addition to the existing twice-weekly service on Fridays and Mondays. Avelo will use Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft for these routes.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of Avelo Airlines' services provides more travel options for residents of Rochester and surrounding areas, particularly as the colder months approach. The affordable fares make it easier for travelers to visit Florida for leisure or to see family and friends. This move also reflects Avelo's growth strategy and commitment to providing reliable and cost-effective air travel. The increased connectivity could boost tourism and economic activity between the regions.
What's Next?
Travelers can begin booking flights for the new schedule, with the first mid-week flights starting on December 3. Avelo Airlines will continue to monitor demand and may adjust services based on passenger needs. The airline's expansion could lead to further growth opportunities and additional routes in the future. Passengers are encouraged to take advantage of the introductory fares and plan their trips accordingly.
