Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, has initiated the Self-Enumeration Portal for the upcoming Census 2027 in the Union Territory. This marks the beginning of the census process in Ladakh, with the portal being a significant step towards

The census, which is the 16th since its inception and the 8th post-independence, will be conducted in two phases: house listing from April to September 2026, followed by population enumeration in February 2027. The government has allocated Rs 11,718.24 crore for this exercise.
