What's Happening?
Battlefield Studios has launched a new 'casual' mode in Battlefield 6, named Casual Breakthrough, which allows players to engage in gameplay with more bots than human players. This mode features 16 real players per lobby, complemented by 32 bots, with each
team consisting of eight players and 16 bots. The mode is designed to offer a relaxed gaming experience while still enabling players to earn Career XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass XP. However, players will not be able to earn Dogtags or Accolades, and the mode will not affect career stats. The XP gain is adjusted, with full XP awarded for player actions and reduced XP for bot actions. Currently, the mode includes two maps: Siege of Cairo and Empire State. Battlefield Studios is actively seeking player feedback to make potential adjustments.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of the Casual Breakthrough mode is significant as it addresses the demand for a more accessible gaming experience within Battlefield 6. By allowing players to earn progression in a less competitive environment, the mode caters to those who may not be ready for full player-versus-player (PvP) combat but still wish to advance in the game. This move could potentially broaden the game's appeal, attracting a wider audience and increasing player retention. Additionally, it provides a solution to the issue of XP farming that was prevalent in the Battlefield Portal mode, where progression was disabled due to misuse. By offering a structured environment for progression with bots, Battlefield Studios aims to maintain game integrity while enhancing player satisfaction.
What's Next?
Battlefield Studios plans to monitor player feedback on the new Casual Breakthrough mode to determine if further adjustments are necessary. This feedback loop will be crucial in refining the mode to better meet player expectations and ensure a balanced gaming experience. The studio's willingness to adapt based on community input suggests a commitment to continuous improvement and player engagement. Future updates may include additional maps or features to enhance the mode further, depending on the reception and feedback from the player base.
