What's Happening?
The U.S. Army has awarded a $617 million contract to Leidos for the production of additional launchers for the Indirect Fire Protection Capability Increment 2 (IFPC Inc 2) system. This contract is part
of a larger effort to enhance the Army's air and missile defense capabilities. The IFPC Inc 2 system is designed to provide flexible and scalable countermeasures against cruise missiles and unmanned aerial systems. It integrates with existing command-and-control frameworks and remains compatible with Army transport platforms. The contract will bring Leidos' total production contracts for the IFPC Inc 2 to nearly $1.2 billion, supporting the Army's objective of fielding the capability at scale.
