She was transported by a friend's boat to South Arm Campground on Lower Richardson Lake, then by Med-Care ambulance to Andover, and subsequently flown by LifeFlight of Maine medical helicopter to MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland. Both jet skis were damaged, with one rendered inoperable and towed to the owner's camp. The Maine Warden Service received assistance from South Arm Campground staff and various medical agencies.
