The report, a collaboration between EdelGive Foundation and Hurun India, identifies 191 philanthropists who collectively donated Rs10,380 crore during the fiscal year 2024-25, marking an 85% increase over three years. Education emerged as the most favored cause, accounting for 40% of total donations, followed by healthcare. PV Krishna Reddy, Managing Director of Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL), is a prominent figure in corporate philanthropy, contributing Rs51 crore primarily towards education and community development. MEIL exceeded its mandated CSR spend, donating Rs100 crore against the prescribed Rs72 crore. Hyderabad ranks fifth among India's most generous cities, with nine philanthropists donating Rs201 crore collectively.
