What's Happening?
Greenlight America, a grassroots campaign organization, has appointed a Regional Campaign Manager to lead clean energy projects in California. The manager will develop strategies, support partner organizations, and mobilize volunteers to advance clean energy initiatives.
Greenlight America has been instrumental in adding approximately 15 gigawatts of clean power to the grid, significantly contributing to the nation's clean energy transition. The role requires a blend of skills in strategic planning, organizing, communications, lobbying, and coalition management. The position is remote and reports to the Senior Manager, Campaigns. The manager will work with various groups, including environmental, labor, faith, farming, social justice, and business organizations, to build alliances and ensure the success of clean energy projects.
Why It's Important?
The appointment of a Regional Campaign Manager is crucial for accelerating the clean energy transition in California, a state known for its ambitious environmental goals. By mobilizing grassroots support, Greenlight America aims to overcome local barriers to clean energy project approvals, thereby contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions and promoting sustainable energy sources. This initiative aligns with California's broader environmental policies and could serve as a model for other states. The manager's role in coalition building and community engagement is vital for fostering local support and ensuring the successful implementation of clean energy projects, which are essential for meeting national and global climate targets.
What's Next?
The Regional Campaign Manager will begin by developing detailed campaign plans, including goals, strategies, and timelines, in collaboration with partner organizations. Regular check-ins, training sessions, and advocacy material creation will be part of the ongoing support provided to volunteers and partner organizations. The manager will also oversee grant agreements and ensure deliverables are met, while engaging in regular reporting of campaign data. As the campaign progresses, the manager may take on additional projects outside the assigned region, further expanding Greenlight America's impact on clean energy initiatives.
