What's Happening?
India's Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) is conducting flight tests for its new Swayam Raksha Kavach (SRK) airborne electronic warfare suite. This suite is intended for deployment on the
Indian Air Force's future fleet of Tejas Mk 1A light combat aircraft. The SRK suite, an evolution of the older D-29 EW suite, includes a radar warning receiver and a jammer pod. The development of the SRK suite began in 2021, and it is expected to be operational by the end of 2026. The DRDO is also transferring related technologies to industry partners, including Bharat Electronics Limited, to facilitate production.
