What's Happening?
The GLEAM Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the foodservice industry, has partnered with Women in Restaurant Leadership (WiRL) to launch a new mentorship program. This initiative
aims to support women in the restaurant, foodservice, and hospitality sectors by pairing them with experienced mentors. The program, set to begin in February 2026, will offer a six-month structured mentorship experience, including one-on-one sessions and access to leadership development resources. The launch will coincide with the WiRL Together Summit in Charleston, South Carolina.
Why It's Important?
This mentorship program addresses the gender gap in leadership within the restaurant industry by providing women with the tools and support needed to advance their careers. By fostering a network of female leaders, the program aims to create a more equitable and inclusive industry. Participants will benefit from tailored guidance, helping them develop leadership skills and expand their professional networks. This initiative not only empowers individual women but also contributes to a cultural shift towards greater diversity and representation in leadership roles across the industry.
What's Next?
As the program launches, participants will engage in mentorship sessions and leadership development activities, with the goal of enhancing their career trajectories. The success of this initiative could inspire similar programs in other industries, promoting gender equity in leadership positions. Stakeholders in the restaurant and hospitality sectors may observe the program's impact on participant career advancement and industry diversity. The outcomes could influence future policies and practices aimed at supporting women in leadership roles.
