What's Happening?
Alabama A&M University has initiated a collaboration with the U.S. Space Command as it establishes its permanent headquarters at Redstone Arsenal. This partnership marks the first formal engagement between
the historically Black university and the command. The meeting involved a strategic briefing where U.S. Space Command leaders were introduced to Alabama A&M's research capabilities, workforce development initiatives, and academic programs that align with national defense and space priorities. Key figures from the Space Command, including Joint Training Manager Richard Fierro and Maj. Gen. Samuel C. Keener, were present. Alabama A&M was represented by Dr. Majed Dweik, Dr. Chance Glenn, and Dr. ZT Deng, among others. The university showcased its work in artificial intelligence, propulsion systems, and quantum optimization, among other areas.
