Zijin Mining, in collaboration with Longking, has initiated the production of electric mining trucks, marking a significant step towards sustainability in the mining industry. The Xinjiang Zijin Zinc mine now operates 250 electric mining trucks, which
handle 80% of transportation tasks, significantly reducing energy costs and improving safety and efficiency compared to diesel trucks. The electric trucks feature fewer complex components, leading to lower failure rates and reduced operational errors. Longking has developed a two-bridge independent central distributed drive system, enhancing torque distribution and adaptation to mining conditions. Since 2020, Zijin's electric vehicle fleet has expanded from 13 to 1,183 vehicles, making Xinjiang Zijin Zinc the world's largest fleet of pure electric mining trucks.
