What's Happening?
Forestry England and DPD have renewed their partnership for another two years, focusing on enhancing biodiversity and resilience in several woodlands. Since 2020, DPD's Eco Fund has supported the restoration of Wareham Forest and the planting of over
12,000 trees. The renewed partnership will focus on projects like restoring ancient woodlands in the South Downs National Park and replanting Clipsham Woods, which has been affected by ash dieback disease. These efforts aim to improve habitats for wildlife and create spaces for local communities.
Why It's Important?
This partnership highlights the role of corporate support in environmental conservation efforts. By collaborating with Forestry England, DPD is contributing to the restoration and enhancement of vital natural habitats, which is crucial for biodiversity and climate resilience. The initiative also underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in achieving environmental goals and engaging local communities in conservation efforts.
What's Next?
The partnership will continue to focus on planting additional trees and improving woodland conditions. DPD employees will participate in volunteer days to support these efforts. The success of this partnership could serve as a model for similar collaborations, encouraging more businesses to invest in environmental sustainability and community engagement.
