The Menlo Park Rotary Club recently held its 41st annual academic awards ceremony at the Performing Arts Center of Menlo-Atherton High School. The event celebrated the academic achievements of students from several local schools, including Menlo-Atherton,
Eastside Preparatory, Sacred Heart Preparatory, and Menlo School. The ceremony featured performances by the M-A Jazz Band and speeches from notable figures such as past Rotary president Lisa Cesario and current president Ali Irtuk. The Rotary Club awarded over $150,000 in scholarships and $50,000 in grants to local nonprofits this year. The event also included a keynote speech by Mikayla Dones, an alumna of Eastside Prep and Mills College, who spoke about the importance of adaptability in life. Approximately 30 students from each school received awards for their accomplishments in various fields, including drama and social science.
