The traditional large and rugged SUV space in India has been dominated by a few select models for a long time. Many great rivals have entered the segment but failed to sustain themselves in front of the existing crop of top-sellers. These SUVs now stand to be challenged by yet another contender, called the MG Majestor. MG Motor India will soon launch the Majestor as a full-sized D-segment SUV. It will take on the top-selling rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner. Here's what we know about the Majestor till now.
As we can see in the teaser, the dimensions of the Majestor SUV are on the larger end of the spectrum when compared to other models in this space. The highlight is the Majestor's front fascia that gets a pair of vertically stacked LED headlamps.
It also gets a pair of LED DRLs, which are set above the headlamps and a vertical LED element that is integrated into the big front grille, with the MG logo positioned in the centre.
A wider look at the MG Majestor silhouette suggests that the new SUV is largely based on the existing Gloster SUV from the carmaker, which offers similar dimensions and presence. As of now, MG Motor India has not confirmed if the Majestor will replace the Gloster or will arrive as an all-new model. At the rear, we get a glimpse of a set of LED taillamps with a connected lightbar element. A closer look also reveals machined alloy wheels and chunky plastic cladding around the wheel arches and running boards of the upcoming SUV.
While MG is yet to disclose any details about the new Majestor, we can expect it to offer technical highlights such as a twin-turbo petrol engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission and a 4x4 drivetrain with multiple terrain modes based on what the MG brand already has available in India. It remains to be seen what goodies MG Motor introduces in the Majestor. Considering it is most likely to be positioned as a premium SUV, it should be well-appointed in the tech and features department, just like other SUVs from the carmaker. MG Motor India is expected to launch the Majestor SUV on February 12, 2026.
