Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has updated the Rumion MPV so that all variants now come with six airbags as standard. That includes dual front, side, and curtain airbags. Prices for the updated Rumion start
from Rs 10.44 lakh and go up to Rs 13.62 lakh. Both mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures. This safety enhancement is effective immediately. Alongside the airbags, the top “V” variant gets a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) added as well. With this, the Rumion continues to offer petrol, CNG, manual and automatic options.

Toyota Rumion: Engine, Transmission, And Fuel Options
The Rumion comes with a tried and tested 1.5-litre K-series petrol engine. It can be had either with a choice of 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic option. Factory-fitted CNG is available only on the base S model. Talking about fuel efficiency figures, the petrol manual version returns an impressive 20.51 km/l, while CNG offers a promising 26.11 km/kg under standard test conditions.
Toyota Rumion: Interior Features And Safety Tech
Other key safety features are Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill Hold Assist, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and rear parking sensors, among others. The MPV also has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, attractive dual-tone alloy wheels, projector headlamps, AC vents in the second and third rows, and flexible 60:40 split second-row seats.

What This Means In Context
This brings the Rumion up to par with others in its segment by introducing six airbags as standard. Increasing regulatory requirements as well as consumer demand for enhanced occupant protection have been addressed in this change. The V variant now includes a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), thereby enhancing tyre safety as well as monitoring, too. The MPV carries over the same price from before which starts at Rs 10.44 lakh (ex-showroom).
