Maruti Suzuki announced that it sold over 1.47 lakh units in the domestic market during the month of June 2026, compared to last year's 1.19 lakh units. This led to a remarkable increase of 24% year-on-year. The success can be credited to a range of Maruti cars across segments, including Alto, Baleno, Dzire, Brezza and Grand Vitara, which continued their strong run in the Indian passenger vehicle market by posting an impressive performance in June 2026. The major attraction of Maruti Suzuki June sales was the strong contribution from its SUVs. The company dispatched 61,726 SUVs in the previous month, compared to last year's 47,947 units. For reference, the homegrown carmaker sells a wide spectrum of SUVs in the market, including Fronx, Ertiga,
e Vitara, Jimny, XL6 and Victoris.
Maruti Suzuki managed to reign in June 2026 sales not solely with SUVs, but also its small cars and compact passenger vehicles. The Alto and S-Presso registered significant year-on-year gains, while the compact and mid-size lineup, comprising the Baleno, Swift, Dzire, WagonR, Celerio, Ignis and Ciaz, continued to maintain their appeal among buyers. The Eeco van sold 10,230 units, compared to 9,340 in the same month last year, showing a considerable improvement.
However, despite the encouraging annual growth, domestic passenger vehicle sales were lower than May 2026, when Maruti Suzuki had recorded an all-time monthly high of more than 1.90 lakh units. That said, Maruti Suzuki's total sales (domestic and export) stood at 2 lakh units in June, exhibiting a rise of 19.28% over 1.68 lakh units sold in June of last year.

The sales of the Super Carry light commercial vehicle climbed to 2,963 units, while supplies to Toyota stood at 7,472 units during the month. The company also had a good start to the new financial year.
