Mercedes-Benz India has expanded its iconic G-Class lineup with the launch of the new G 450d, marking the return of diesel power to the luxury SUV’s portfolio. With this addition, the G-Class is now available in three powertrain options: diesel, petrol, and electric (EQG).
The G 450d is powered by a new 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel engine paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The setup integrates an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that provides an extra 15 kW boost at lower speeds. The engine produces 367 hp and 750 Nm of torque, allowing the SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 210 km/h.

Inside the cabin, the AMG Line interior theme comes standard, featuring Nappa leather upholstery, metallic trim inserts, and customizable ambient lighting. The Burmester 3D Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos and 18 speakers are also present. The SUV is equipped with the latest MBUX NTG7 infotainment system, which includes dual 12.3-inch screens for driver and media functions, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, USB-C connectivity, and MBUX Augmented Reality for navigation.
The G 450d continues uses a ladder-frame chassis, three mechanical differential locks, and a combination of independent double-wishbone front suspension and a rigid rear axle. Adaptive adjustable damping is standard.
