The official unveiling of the XUV 7XO will take place on January 5, 2026. Since this is a mid-cycle facelift, the SUV will keep its engines and driving dynamics, but Mahindra has worked on updating its design and features to keep it competitive against newer rivals from Hyundai, Tata and MG.
Teaser images reveal several noticeable cosmetic upgrades like a sharper, more premium front fascia, including a redesigned grille, new dual-pod LED headlamps, updated LED DRLs inspired by Mahindra’s electric SUVs, a redesigned front bumper with a more aggressive road stance, fresh alloy wheel designs, new paint shades and possibly a blacked-out roof and at the rear, new LED taillamps and a revamped bumper are expected. Overall, while the basic body shape remains similar, the XUV 7XO looks more polished and modern.
The biggest upgrade is expected inside the cabin, as Mahindra might offer a triple-screen dashboard layout, which includes a digital instrument cluster, a new touchscreen infotainment screen, a third display for the front passenger. This is a first in its class and is aimed at giving the XUV 7XO a futuristic, luxury feel. Expect new soft-touch materials, updated upholstery and better rear-seat comfort as Mahindra aims to boost the premium experience.
The XUV 7XO will continue to offer the same tried-and-tested engines which are 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel. Both come with 6-speed manual and automatic options. The diesel-automatic variant is expected to continue offering all-wheel drive (AWD).
The XUV700 has been one of Mahindra’s biggest success stories and with the 7XO, Mahindra is aiming to strengthen its position in the full-size SUV category by offering even more tech and modern design.
