The Kia Syros EV and the Sorento Hybrid could be the two new electrified models (BEV/HEV) the brand has teased for India on its social media platforms. The company has not revealed the identities of its upcoming Kia cars, but we anticipate that they are the much-awaited Syros EV and the Sorento Hybrid. While the Syros EV has been spotted testing several times, the body shell of the Sorento has also been seen in India. If these two models are indeed set to arrive in India soon, here's a look at the specifications and features they are expected to offer.
Kia Syros EV: What To Expect
Visually, the Syros EV is unlikely to look drastically different from the standard ICE model currently on sale in India. Given it will be an electric counterpart, you can expect the same silhouette
with some EV-specific design elements such as exclusive badging, a sealed front panel, a front-fender-mounted charging port, and aerodynamic alloy wheels.
Inside, Kia could add a few new features while keeping the same dashboard layout. Although the Kia Syros EV battery capacity has not been confirmed, reports suggest it could be offered with 42kWh, 49kWh and possibly a larger 51.4 kWh battery pack. The claimed Kia Syros EV range is expected to be up to 355 kilometres, while the Kia Syros EV ground clearance is likely to remain similar to the ICE version.
The Kia Syros EV price is expected to range between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). The final Kia Syros EV price in India and Kia Syros EV on road Price will depend on the variant and location. Once launched, it will rival the Tata Nexon EV, Tata Punch EV and MG Windsor EV.
Kia Sorento Hybrid: What To Expect
Alongside the electric SUV, the Sorento Hybrid is also expected to hit Indian showrooms. The model is already available in global markets. Its body shell was spotted in India earlier this year, suggesting that preparations for launch in India had begun. Now, the most recent teaser has strengthened expectations of the Kia Sorento Hybrid India debut.
The premium three-row SUV will feature Kia's latest global design language. A large tiger-nose grille, vertically stacked LED headlamps, and connected LED taillamps could be a part of its bodywork. The Kia Sorento Hybrid interior is likely to include a panoramic sunroof, dual-screen setup, as well as premium upholstery.
Globally, the car comes in multiple powertrains (depending on the market), including a Kia Sorento hybrid Plug-in version. For India, the carmaker is expected to focus on the hybrid model (a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine with an electric motor), although the final specifications are yet to be confirmed. The SUV could be introduced through the CKD route. The Kia Sorento price in India is expected to fall between Rs 35 lakh and Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom).
The upcoming Sorento Hybrid 2026 is expected to compete with the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq in the premium SUV segment.
