Kia India has a strong model range comprising SUVs and MPVs across different price points. In the previous month, the carmaker recorded total sales of 27,586 units in the domestic market, which was a considerable rise of 24% year-on-year. Today, we break down how the Kia cars performed individually during the last month, showing their strong preference among car buyers. Here's a look at how every Kia model performed in May 2026.
This SUV Took The No.1 Spot
The Seltos was the highest-selling Kia car last month. It sold 10,597 units, compared to 6,082 units sold in May 2025, which resulted in a growth of a whopping 74%. On a month-on-month basis, the sales of the SUV improved marginally from 10,566 units in April 2026. There's no denying the fact that Seltos, which was given
a second generational update earlier this year, has always remained Kia's strongest volume contributor almost every month. It currently starts at Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Sonet Holds The Second Place
The Kia Sonet secured the second position with 9,707 units sold during the month. Compared to the 8,054 units dispatched in May of last year, the compact SUV posted a growth 21% year-on-year. That said, the car's monthly performance dipped a bit by 8% from 10,537 units in April 2026. Even so, the Sonet remains one of Kia's preferred SUVs in the compact segment.
Carens, Syros, and Carnival Followed
The Carens MPV sold 6,208 units sold in May 2026. The sales of the Kia car surged 37% from 4,524 units in the same month last year. When it comes to the MoM basis, the MPV registered a 14% increase (5,465 units in April).
The Kia Syros registered sales of 961 units in the previous month. While it represented a sharp 73% decline compared to 3,611 units a year earlier, the model showed a notable 73% month-on-month growth over the 554 units sold in April.
The Kia Carnival remained the brand's lowest-volume offering with 113 units sold. Despite a 31% month-on-month decline from 164 units in April, the luxury MPV registered the highest year-on-year growth among Kia's model range at a massive 157%, compared to just 44 units sold in May 2025.
