The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has become the first Nexa SUV (automaker's premium retail channel) to surpass the milestone of 5 lakh domestic wholesales. It took a period of 38 months for the coupe-styled SUV to achieve this feat. It sold 5.13 lakh units in the domestic market up to May 2026. Currently, the Fronx SUV has a starting price of Rs 6.85 lakh, and is available in five core trim levels: Sigma, Delta, Delta Plus (including Delta Plus Opt), Zeta, and Alpha. Here's a sales breakdown of Maruti's Coupe SUV in detail.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx: A Success Model Since Launch
The Fronx entered the market in 2023, and since that period, the car has been a success for the brand. It posted domestic wholesales of 94,393 units in its launch year. That number jumped to 1.56 lakh units in 2024 before reaching
1.80 lakh units in 2025. In just the first five months of 2026, the Fronx has already added another 82,306 units to its tally.
The pace at which the SUV has accumulated buyers in India is commendable. The Maruti car crossed the 1 lakh mark within 10 months of its arrival in the market. It reached 2 lakh units in 17 months and surpassed 3 lakh sales in a little over 23 months. The milestone of 4 lakh units came in 33 months, while the most recent 5 lakh landmark was attained just five months later.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx: May 2026 Sales
The Fronx witnessed a strong month in May 2026. The wholesale sales figures stood at 20,686 units, which were the highest monthly volume ever recorded by the SUV in calendar year 2026. It was also only the third time that the model crossed the mark of 20,000 units.
Compared to 13,584 units sold in May 2025, the SUV posted a year-on-year increase of 52.3%. The sales grew by nearly 10% month-on-month from the 18,829 units dispatched in April 2026.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx: A Strong Contributor To Sales
The Fronx has cemented its position not just locally, but also on the international stage. The company has shipped more than 1.75 lakh units of the SUV to international markets since launch. In FY2026, the Fronx became the highest-exported passenger vehicle in India.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: What Makes It Special?
In India, several parameters have helped Fronx to maintain its position in a crowded segment. These include the 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine options and an extensive feature list comprising 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ Screen, a head-Up display, rear AC vents, a 360-degree view camera, fast USB charging and six airbags. The ideal combination of a decent feature set, turbo-engine option, and budget-friendly prices makes it a good option for buyers looking for a practical and stylish vehicle with a trusted brand identity.
