Mahindra BE 07, the brand's upcoming electric SUV has been spotted testing again in near-production form and what stands out most is a rear profile that draws unmistakable visual comparisons to the Range Rover Velar with a sloping roofline, clean window line as well as a tailgate-mounted number plate recess. For buyers currently tracking India's premium EV SUV segment, this matters because the BE 07 will sit above the BE 6 in Mahindra's lineup to bring about a more upmarket proposition at what's expected to be a higher price point.
Mahindra BE 07: Design Details
Two test mules have been spotted both wearing heavy camouflage with one key detail visible: production-spec headlamps are already fitted while the taillights still appear to be makeshift units. This basically suggests
the front end is finalised but the rear lighting hasn't been locked in yet.
The exterior hardware that is confirmed includes frameless doors, motorised flush-fitting door handles, large alloy wheels with a blacked-out finish, front parking sensors, fog lights, angular projector headlamps along with vertically stacked LED taillights. The sloping roofline and smooth side surfacing are clearly visible through the camouflage wrapping as is the tailgate-mounted number plate recess that's become a premium design signature on several recent luxury SUVs globally.
Mahindra BE 07: What Features Are Expected?
The cabin spec hasn't been officially confirmed but based on what Mahindra has offered on the BE 6 and XEV 9e — plus the positioning of the BE 07 above them — expect the full premium package. A panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, multi-zone climate control, a dual-screen dashboard, a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six airbags, a head-up display and Type-C fast charging ports are all expected to feature.
On powertrains, no official specifications have been released yet. Given the shared platform with other BE series models, the 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs currently used across Mahindra's BEV range are likely candidates though higher-capacity options can't be ruled out for a model sitting this high in the lineup.
When Will It Launch?
Mahindra hasn't confirmed a launch date for the BE 07 but the company is expected to make a significant announcement on August 15, which could include the BE 07's reveal. The price range may start from Rs 25 lakh though it will depend heavily on what spec and battery options Mahindra finalises for the Indian market.
