Triumph has launched the Tracker 400 in India at Rs 2.46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), introducing a flat track-inspired motorcycle to its 400cc range. This matters because it expands the lineup with a more style-focused offering while retaining accessible pricing. The development itself is straightforward: a new model joins the existing 400cc portfolio. The underlying shift however, is in how Triumph is diversifying the platform. Instead of altering the core formula, the Tracker 400 builds on it with a distinct visual identity and riding stance. For buyers, this translates into more choice within a familiar mechanical setup.
Commenting on the launch, Manik Nangia, President, Probiking, Bajaj Auto, said, "The Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, and the Thruxton
have seen strong acceptance, expanding Triumph’s appeal to younger
riders. Building on this momentum, the Tracker 400 introduces greater choice. With its stripped-back flat track attitude, it delivers more fun, more style, and a distinctly sportier ride.”
Engine, Chassis And Hardware Details
The Triumph Tracker 400 is powered by a TR-series single-cylinder engine producing 40 PS at 8,750 rpm. The unit is tuned for sporty yet manageable performance. It features a dedicated chassis designed to deliver sharper handling and a more engaging ride. Suspension duties are handled by 43 mm upside-down front forks and a rear gas monoshock with preload adjustment, both offering 140 mm of travel.
Braking performance comes from four-piston radial calipers and is supported by standard safety systems including ABS and switchable traction control. A torque-assist clutch is also included to improve rideability. The motorcycle has a seat height of 805 mm which aims to balance accessibility with a commanding riding position.

Design, Features And Positioning
The Tracker 400 draws direct inspiration from flat track racing. This is reflected in its wide handlebars, repositioned footpegs, boxy fuel tank, flyscreen, seat cowl as well as number board styling. It is available in Racing Yellow, Phantom Black, and Aluminium Silver Gloss. Each of these shades feature race-inspired graphics and distinctive detailing.
Instrumentation includes a single-dial analogue speedometer with an integrated digital display which maintains a clean, classic layout while providing essential information.
The Tracker 400 is positioned as a modern classic with a sportier edge, aimed at riders seeking a different design approach within the mid-capacity segment. It builds on Triumph’s existing 400cc platform while introducing a new styling direction rooted in racing inspiration.
