Skoda Auto India has registered strong sales growth in January 2026 as the Czech brand, which is a part of the Volkswagen Group, reported 5,739 passenger vehicles sold in India last month. The jump is 1,606 cars compared to January 2025, which translates to a 39% year-on-year growth. This growth is powered by a healthy mix of strong existing products and smart updates.
Skoda Slavia
According to Skoda, the Slavia emerged as the number one executive sedan for January. In a market where SUVs dominate conversations, this is significant. The Slavia’s appeal lies in its space, solid build, and smooth turbo-petrol engines that make highway drives effortless while keeping city commutes comfortable. For many buyers who still prefer the elegance and stability
of a sedan over an SUV, the Slavia has quietly become the go-to choice.
Skoda Kushaq Facelift
Last month, Skoda unveiled the facelifted Kushaq, its popular sub-compact SUV. The update is more than cosmetic. Buyers now get a panoramic sunroof, a bigger infotainment screen and 106 litres of additional boot space, which is a practical upgrade for families.
The big change in Kushaq is a new 8-speed automatic transmission, replacing the older 6-speed unit for smoother performance. The expected starting price is between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it right in the heart of India’s most competitive SUV segment.

Skoda has outlined an ambitious plan for India this year, including performance-oriented models like the Skoda Kodiaq RS and Skoda Octavia RS, alongside new variants such as the Skoda Kylaq Sportline Plus, Skoda Kylaq Classic Plus, and Skoda Kylaq Prestige Plus. This mix of practical family cars and enthusiast-friendly performance machines shows Skoda’s intent to widen its appeal.
A near 40 percent rise in monthly sales is not accidental. It suggests rising trust in the brand’s reliability, design, and value. It also shows that Indian buyers are responding positively to thoughtful upgrades rather than flashy gimmicks. For Skoda, January 2026 is not just about strong numbers.
