Not quite. The listing on Amazon or Flipkart is essentially a booking window. You pay the booking amount online and receive a confirmation.
After that, the dealership you've selected takes over. That's when the usual process begins. Registration. Insurance. Finance, if needed. Final payment. Delivery. The motorcycle never leaves the dealership system. What's changed is simply the first interaction between the customer and the brand.
Why Is Jawa Doing This?
Probably because buying habits have changed. A growing number of customers already compare prices, read reviews and shortlist motorcycles online before visiting a showroom. Moving the booking step to Amazon and Flipkart feels like the next logical experiment.
For the brand, it also means greater visibility. Someone browsing electronics or home appliances could just as easily stumble across a motorcycle listing. That's a very different audience from the one walking into a dedicated dealership.
Does This Change The Buying Experience?
Only partly. If you're expecting to click "Buy Now" and receive a fully registered motorcycle at your doorstep, that's not how it works.
