Yamaha has officially begun deliveries of its much-awaited XSR 155 in India. This bike is priced at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), is a unique mix of modern performance and retro charm, which makes it stand out in Yamaha’s lineup.
The launch of the XSR 155 comes shortly after Yamaha introduced several new models in India, including its first electric scooters, the Aerox e and EC-06. With this new product lineup, Yamaha is clearly aiming to offer something for every type of rider, from eco-friendly EV users to enthusiasts who love petrol-powered machines with character.
What makes the Yamaha XSR 155 special is its neo-retro design. This means it combines old-school styling with new age technology. The bike sports a round LED headlamp, matching round LED taillight,
and a stylish teardrop-shaped fuel tank with bold “XSR 155” branding. Unlike many sporty Yamaha bikes that use split seats, this one has a flat single-piece seat, giving it a classic and comfortable look.

It gets full LED lighting, which means brighter visibility and a premium feel. The retro-style LCD digital display offers clear readouts while maintaining the old-school aesthetic.
Yamaha has also equipped the bike with its Advanced Technology package, which includes- traction control for better grip and stability, Yamaha Motorcycle Connect, offering smartphone connectivity and Dual-channel ABS which provides safer braking on different types of roads. These features make the XSR 155 friendly for beginners while still exciting for experienced riders.
The motorcycle is powered with the same 155cc liquid-cooled engine found in Yamaha’s popular R15 and MT-15. It produces 18.4 hp at 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
With deliveries now underway across India, the Yamaha XSR 155 is set to attract riders who want a motorcycle that looks classy but performs like a modern machine. It's stylish, feature-rich and beginner-friendly, which makes it a strong new addition to India’s growing premium 150cc segment.
