India’s shift toward electric mobility has just received a major boost as Mahindra has officially begun rolling out its Charge_IN ultra-fast charging network and this project aims to create one of the country’s strongest and fastest EV charging stations, which will make long-distance electric travel easier and more dependable for everyone, especially new EV buyers who still worry about charging speed and range.
The centre of this plan is Mahindra’s commitment to install 1,000 charging points by the end of 2027 and all powered by 180 kW ultra-fast chargers. Unlike other public chargers, these high-capacity units promise super-quick power delivery, which will drastically cut down charging time during highway journeys.

Multiple New Electric Two-Wheelers - What To Expect In Future
Mahindra has already inaugurated its first two Charge_IN stations on Hoskote on NH 75 (Bengaluru–Chennai Highway) and Murthal on NH 44, near Delhi.
Both the stations feature two 180 kW dual-gun chargers, which are capable of charging up to four electric cars simultaneously. These are the same highways which are widely used by daily commuters and long-distance travellers and this make them ideal locations for an EV pit stop.
Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUVs XEV 9e, BE 6, and XEV 9S are designed to take full advantage of the Charge_IN network. These vehicles promise a real-world range of up to 500 km and the ultra-fast chargers can top them up from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
One of the biggest advantages of Charge_IN is that it is not limited to Mahindra owners. Any electric car owner, regardless of brand, will be able to use these charging points through the Charge_IN by Mahindra app and other major EV charging aggregator platforms.
For Mahindra vehicles, the dedicated Me4U app allows users to locate nearby chargers, start and stop charging and make digital payments. The app already provides access to around 34,000 public charging points across India.
According to Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive Division, the Charge_IN network is built to make electric travel “as effortless and reliable as conventional driving.” With an open-access network, fast charging, and long-range eSUVs, Mahindra aims to remove the barriers that stop many people from switching to EVs.
