Mahindra XUV 3XO currently serves as a feature-rich alternative in the sub-four-metre SUV space with pricing starting at Rs 7.54 lakh (ex-showroom). It fundamentally differentiates itself from the older XUV300 by offering a panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS, features that were previously unavailable in this segment. While it retains the wide-body stance of its predecessor, the 3XO is an explainer in modern packaging, combining high-performance turbo-petrol engines with a much-needed 364-litre boot and a refined 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox to compete with the Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
Powertrains and Real-World Efficiency
The Mahindra XUV 3XO lineup is built around three engine choices that cater to different types of drivers. The flagship 1.2-litre TGDi
mStallion petrol is the performance leader, pushing 129 hp and 230 Nm of torque, which allows for a 0-60 kmph sprint in just 4.5 seconds. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol (TCMPFi) puts out about 111 hp.
For those prioritising fuel economy, the 1.5-litre diesel remains a strong contender, offering 115 hp and a hefty 300 Nm of torque. While the petrol versions benefit from a smooth 6-speed Aisin torque converter, the diesel continues with the manual and AMT options. Mileage varies by driving style, but the diesel typically delivers around 21.2 kmpl, making it a solid choice for long-distance commuters.
Depending on the variant, the price of the SUV ranges from Rs 7.54 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 14.88 lakh (ex-showroom).
Cabin Tech and Segment-First Features
Inside, the 3XO moves away from the basic layouts of the past, opting for a "Twin HD" screen setup. Both the infotainment and the digital instrument cluster measure 10.24-inch, providing a high-resolution interface for navigation and vehicle data. The most discussed feature remains the "Skyroof," the largest panoramic sunroof in its class, which significantly improves cabin brightness.
Beyond the glass, the SUV is loaded with premium hardware including a 7-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, dual-zone climate control and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold. The Adrenox suite ties it all together with over 80 connected features for remote vehicle management.

Safety Systems and Buyer Impact
Mahindra has positioned the XUV 3XO as a safety leader by making six airbags and four-wheel disc brakes standard across all variants. The inclusion of Level 2 ADAS is the major highlight which brings radar and camera-based tech like Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist to a more affordable price point.
For city use, the 360-degree camera with a blind-view monitor provides a live feed to the digital dash, helping drivers navigate tight spaces. Because the 3XO uses a high-strength steel architecture, it offers a planted ride that feels more secure on highways than many of its lighter competitors, giving buyers a sense of "big SUV" safety in a compact footprint.
