Honda has officially entered a new phase of electric mobility by starting sales of its fixed-battery electric two-wheeler, the Honda UC3, in Thailand and Vietnam. But the brand has not confirmed its India launch yet. This new model is aimed at everyday commuters and is positioned as an electric alternative to 110cc petrol motorcycles, which are extremely popular in these markets.
What Is the Honda UC3?
The Honda UC3 is a personal electric commuter scooter which is designed mainly for daily city commutes. Honda has confirmed that deliveries of the UC3 will begin during the spring season. Along with launching the vehicle, Honda is also working on expanding charging infrastructure in major cities across Thailand and Vietnam.
Battery, Motor and Riding
Range
One of the biggest highlights of the UC3 is its fixed-type battery, as unlike some electric scooters that use removable batteries, the UC3 comes with a fixed lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. This is the first time Honda has used an LFP battery in an electric two-wheeler. LFP batteries are also known for better durability, safety and longer life cycles.
Power comes from a wheel-side electric motor developed by Honda itself. It produces an output of around 8 bhp, which puts it close to the performance of a regular 110cc petrol motorcycle. According to certification data from Thailand (WMTC Mode 1), the UC3 can travel up to 122 km on a full charge, which is more than enough for daily commuting. To improve efficiency, the UC3 also features regenerative braking, which means the battery gets partially recharged when the rider slows down or brakes.

Riding Modes and Handling
Honda has also equipped this electric bike with three riding modes which are Standard, Sport and Econ, allowing riders to balance performance and efficiency based on their needs. Reverse mode is also included, which helps during parking and tight low-speed situations, especially in crowded urban areas.
Design and Charging Setup
Design-wise, the UC3 has a clean and modern approach with smooth, continuous curves from front to rear. It features a horizontal light signature and comes in a black-based colour scheme with contrast accents. Honda has even created a special “Honda” font specifically for its electric motorcycles which gives the UC3 a unique identity. For charging, the UC3 supports the CHAdeMO standard for two-wheelers. Honda will offer two charger options, rated at 1200W and 450W.
Production and What’s Next
Honda started production of the UC3 in December 2025 in Thailand, supplying units to both Thailand and Vietnam. The company has also confirmed plans to begin local production in Vietnam during 2026.
