Husqvarna, which is a brand known for its stylish and sporty motorcycles, has announced a global recall for its popular Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 models. A recall simply means the company has found a small issue and wants to fix it for free to keep riders safe. This recall affects 2024 to 2026 models of both motorcycles, and as the issue is linked to the engine control unit (ECU), this is the bike’s “brain” that controls how the engine behaves.
During routine quality checks, Husqvarna found that in rare cases, the engine of these bikes could stall at low RPMs. Revolutions Per Minute(RPM) simply means how fast your engine is spinning. Low RPMs usually occur when you are slowing down or riding slowly, especially in traffic. An engine stalling
suddenly can be risky, especially for new riders. Even though only a few cases were reported globally, Husqvarna decided to take quick action to ensure rider safety.

Instead of replacing parts or doing anything complicated, Husqvarna will fix the issue through a software update to the ECU. This update will stop the engine stalling problem, improve low-end torque which means the bike will feel smoother when you start moving, increase engine stability and make the ride feel more refined and confident. So the update not only solves the problem but also makes the bikes perform better than before.
Owners of these Husqvarna 401 models will receive a personal notification letter from the company. Husqvarna has asked all owners to visit any authorised Husqvarna Mobility dealership to get the update installed.
Despite this, the good news is that the software update is completely free, it will only take a short time and will be done only by authorised dealers to ensure safety. If someone is unsure whether their bike is affected, they can visit the “Service” section of the official Husqvarna Mobility website. There, they can enter the motorcycle’s details and get full information.
It is important to understand that recalls are not a sign of a “bad” bike. In fact, they show that the company cares about safety and takes responsibility. Many top brands, issue recalls to fix issues early and maintain customer trust.
