At the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) near Delhi-NCR, something special just happened, as the Skoda Octavia RS which is a high-performance sedan and sitar maestro Rishab Rikhiram Sharma joined forces
for a one-of-a-kind track-meets-music experience. For car-lovers who know little about high-end vehicles and for music lovers wondering how a sitar and a sports car can pair.

What’s the Octavia RS?
The Octavia RS is Skoda’s performance sedan, in fact take it as a car designed not only for everyday driving but also for thrilling acceleration, strong handling and sporty style. The newest version packs a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine which delivers around 265 hp and 370 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. That means it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just about 6.4 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited at 250 km/h.
Who is Rishab Rikhiram Sharma?
Rishab Rikhiram Sharma is a globally known sitar virtuoso and one of the youngest torchbearers of a classical Indian instrument with international performances. He is the last disciple of the legendary sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar and carries forward his guru’s musical legacy. Through his initiative “Sitar for Mental Health,” he teaches and heals audiences worldwide. He also continues his family’s rich heritage as the great-grandson of renowned instrument maker Pandit Rikhi Ram Sharma. His music blends tradition with contemporary flair and for this event he brought his artistry onto the racetrack.

The Collaboration - Music Meets Motion
In the film Skoda and Rishab R Sharma have created, camera shots of the Octavia RS showing off its speed and precision on the BIC track are interwoven with Rishab’s sitar performance. The idea is to show how the car’s engineering precision and the musician’s mastery share the same DNA which is control, passion, rhythm.
