MG Motor India has officially teased the upcoming Hector facelift on their official Instagram handle, hinting that the popular SUV is about to return with major updates. A short teaser video with the message
“It’s been a while. Get ready to be surprised” has set the stage for a new chapter in Hector’s journey and this time backed by MG’s fresh partnership with JSW.
The teaser itself hides most of the details, but it clearly signals that MG wants to reposition the Hector with a stronger design identity and better features and this will be the Hector’s first major facelift since the JSW-MG partnership and we believe the brand is preparing a more refined and modern product to stay competitive in the mid-size SUV segment.
While the teaser keeps things secret, recent spy shots have already given us some surprising clues. Instead of the typical thick black camouflage used by most carmakers, MG covered the test mule with a green netted cover. This unusual disguise has caught the attention of car fans, which makes the facelifted model easily noticeable.

MG is also expected to refresh the interior with several comfort and technology improvements. Ventilated seats, possibly for both front and rear passengers, may be part of the upgrade. More advanced connected-car features, a smoother infotainment interface, and upgraded ADAS safety technology are likely additions too.
Despite the design and tech refresh, MG is likely to continue offering the same engine choices- 1.5-litre turbo-petrol which delivers 141 hp and 250 Nm torque, 2.0-litre turbo-diesel which delivers 167 hp and 350 Nm torque. We also expect an electric version of Hector.
The new MG Hector facelift seems to be shaping up as a more stylish, feature-loaded and tech-driven SUV. With a quirky camouflage teasing hidden design updates and likely upgrades inside the cabin, MG clearly wants to surprise buyers. More teasers and details are expected in the coming weeks and the refreshed Hector, probably EV, could become a strong contender in the 2026 mid-size SUV market.
