Hero MotoCorp has once again registered a strong growth in January 2026, marking 25 consecutive years as the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer. In January alone, the company dispatched 5,57,871 units, marking a strong 26% growth over the 4,42,873 units recorded in January last year.
Hero recorded 4,91,986 VAHAN registrations in January, as of Feb 1, excluding Telangana, which shows healthy sales at showrooms across the country. A big part of January’s momentum came from scooters as models like the Xoom and Destini are seeing rising interest from urban commuters and families, which helps scooter dispatches climb to 61,982 units, up from 42,580 last year.Motorcycles remain Hero’s backbone, with 4,95,889 units dispatched in January, bikes such as the Xtreme and Glamour X continue to attract daily riders looking for efficiency with modern styling. Year-to-date numbers show motorcycles crossing 48 lakh units, reflecting consistent demand.
The Hero's electric arm, VIDA, is also building momentum. The VIDA VX2 recorded 13,000 VAHAN registrations in January, which is a 21% month-on-month growth. Better retail reach
and strong bookings in key cities are helping Hero expand its presence in the fast-growing EV space.

Hero’s global business maintained double-digit growth. Exports rose 24% to 37,663 units in January, compared to 30,495 units last year. The company’s premium motorcycles are finding increasing acceptance in international markets.
January also brought recognition. Hero MotoSports Team Rally secured a double top-10 finish at the Dakar Rally 2026, a significant achievement in global motorsport. Hero was also recognised as an ESG Leader by NSE Sustainability Ratings, while VIDA’s DIRT.E K3 concept earned a CES 2026 Innovation Award for its unique adaptive design.
With 5.58 lakh dispatches, nearly 5 lakh retail registrations, rising EV traction and strong exports, Hero’s start to 2026 shows how a wide product range from commuters to electric scooters, continues to keep the brand firmly on top after 25 years.
