The new Hyundai Creta, expected around 2027, is already in works and early details point to a bigger and a more feature-rich SUV. The key update is this: the upcoming version is likely to grow in size, adopt a new platform and add more technology which directly impacts buyers considering mid-size SUVs in India. While Hyundai has not revealed official specs yet, multiple reports indicate a shift towards a more premium, tech-heavy package. For buyers, this means the next Creta could raise expectations in a segment that is already highly competitive.
Bigger Size, New Platform And Design Direction
The next-gen Hyundai Creta is expected to move to Hyundai-Kia’s newer K3 platform, replacing the current K2 architecture. This change is significant because it brings improvements in structural rigidity,
safety and overall refinement.
Dimensionally, the SUV is likely to grow from about 4,330 mm to close to 4,500 mm in length which is an increase of roughly 170 mm. That translates to more cabin space and potentially a larger boot, addressing a key demand in this segment.
Design-wise, test vehicles suggest a more upright and boxier stance, with rectangular lighting elements, a redesigned grille and new bumpers. Larger alloy wheels, possibly up to 18-inch or more on higher variants, also point to a stronger road presence.
Interior, Features And Safety Expectations
Inside, the changes are expected to be more noticeable. Reports indicate a redesigned dashboard with larger infotainment and digital instrument displays, possibly in a dual-screen layout.
Feature additions are likely to include upgraded connected car tech, improved materials and features such as “boss mode” for rear-seat comfort. Enhanced ADAS is also expected, building on the current Level 2 system with more functions.
The shift to a newer platform also allows for better NVH levels and improved ride quality which matters for daily usability rather than just specifications.

Engine Options And What Buyers Should Expect
Powertrain options are expected to remain largely unchanged at launch. This includes the current 1.5-litre petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel engines with manual and automatic gearboxes.
However, a strong hybrid variant is reportedly under development and could be introduced later, aligning the Creta with rivals offering electrified options.
This update is not about reinventing the Creta. It’s about making it bigger, more tech-focused and more premium without changing its core formula.
What this really means is buyers can expect better space, more features and improved refinement but a familiar driving experience. With a likely price starting around Rs 11 lakh and going higher depending on features, the next-generation Creta is expected to stay within reach while offering more than the current model.
